Doherty Institute

The Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity is a joint venture between the University of Melbourne and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

The Doherty Institute works across the spectrum of biomedical science, public health, population and clinical science in all aspects of infection and immunity.  Our vision is to improve heath globally through discovery research and the prevention, treatment and cure of infectious diseases.

Our work focuses on the following themes:

·         Immunology, vaccines and therapeutics

·         Viral infectious diseases

·         Healthcare associated infections and antimicrobial resistance

·         Host-pathogen interactions
